Plant Health Care Technician
We are looking for our next teammate. You have to love plants, you have to love being outside, and you have to have some mind and muscle. Our Plant Health Care Technician (PHC Tech) will be responsible for taking care of customers’ plants and trees. You will need to have the following certifications to do this kind of work. If you don't already have certification, you will need to get them but we can pay for that.
Vermont pesticide license
New Hampshire supervisory pesticide license
DOT medical card
Clean driving record
Required skills:
You'll need to be able to carry around equipment up to 75 lbs. There will be bags of product and mulch that you'll also need to move around quite often around the same weight. With that said, we also need you to be able to think.
Contrary perhaps to what you thought in high school, you'll need to have some math skills to be able to measure out products and to mix them in specific proportions.
Though you will not be working with a lot of very dangerous chemicals, knowing the use of proper PPE and safety protocols will be vital. Most of what we use is organic, but it could still be an irritant.
Maybe more than anything else, we need somebody of high integrity. We have been invited on to the property of our customers and we must hold that in the highest possible regard. This work is important, and we need to make sure that you understand that.
We want to fill this PHC position this spring, hopefully April 1, so we're interviewing immediately. This position can be seasonal, though we can discuss year round work as well. We're looking for someone with established skills and credentials ideally. This opportunity starts at $50,000 for a 7-month season. depending on experience, but has so much room to grow into, it'll turn your thumbs green.
