The history of ArborClimb….

Jonathan’s journey in tree care began with a passion for the outdoors and a commitment to hard work. After graduating high school, he attended the Stockbridge School of Agriculture, where he earned an associate degree in Arboriculture. Upon graduation, he achieved his Certified Arborist credential, laying the foundation for a career built on knowledge, skill, and professionalism.

Jonathan spent seven years working for several large tree service companies in the Boston area, gaining extensive experience and caring for some remarkable properties. Seeking adventure and broader experience, he moved to New Zealand for a year, working on a variety of complex tree removal projects that further sharpened his expertise and perspective.

After returning to the United States with his wife, Lindsey, the couple purchased land in Dummerston, Vermont, where they built a 400-square-foot tiny house and put down roots. Jonathan continued working with respected tree services throughout southern Vermont and New Hampshire, but soon recognized an opportunity to provide higher-quality service and more personalized care to customers.

In March 2014, he founded ArborClimb Tree Service with a vision of raising the standard in professional tree care. Just a few months later, in June 2014, Jonathan purchased the rights to Keene Tree Service from Winn Johnson, continuing the legacy of a trusted company that had served the Keene community for over 40 years. What began as a one-person operation quickly grew into a three-person crew with updated equipment—and continued to expand from there.

Over the years, ArborClimb has evolved significantly, adding advanced equipment including multiple cranes, and purchasing a commercial property in West Chesterfield, New Hampshire. Jonathan has built an exceptional team that includes a crew foreman, operations manager, sales arborist, and dedicated crew members who share a commitment to excellence. The company also developed a comprehensive Plant Health Care program to support trees facing stress from insects, disease, and environmental challenges. At the end of 2025, ArborClimb proudly purchased Renaud Tree Care to ensure continued service for Godfrey’s clients and further strengthen its presence in the region.

Today, ArborClimb Tree Service stands as a company built on integrity, expertise, and genuine care—for people, for trees, and for the planet. Jonathan and his team work tirelessly to deliver exceptional service while preserving the health, beauty, and safety of the communities they serve.
